• Which flooring is right for our home?

  It depends on the room’s job. Hardwood brings warmth and value to living spaces; luxury vinyl plank shrugs off water, pets and kids in kitchens and basements; tile owns bathrooms and mudrooms; carpet still wins bedrooms for comfort and quiet. At your free consultation we look at your rooms and your life, then recommend honestly — including where the cheaper option is genuinely the better one.

• Hardwood or luxury vinyl plank?

  The honest trade: hardwood is the real thing — refinishable, warm, and the answer buyers look for in living areas. LVP is waterproof, tougher against pets and spills, and excellent below grade or in kitchens. Many of our projects use both, each where it wins. We’ll show you samples of each in your own light before you decide.

• How long does flooring installation take?

  Most whole-main-level projects take three to five days; single rooms often one to two. Hardwood adds acclimation time — the boards rest in your home before installation so they don’t move afterward — and we sequence room by room so you’re never displaced from the whole house at once.

• Do you fix squeaks and uneven subfloors?

  Yes — and it’s the step that separates a good install from a callback. We flatten and secure the subfloor before anything goes down: leveling compound where it’s needed, screws where it squeaks, moisture checks on concrete. Floors fail from below, so that’s where the work starts.

• Can you match or continue our existing hardwood?

  Usually. We can weave new boards into existing floors, match species and stain, or refinish everything to one color so old and new read as a single floor. Where a perfect match isn’t realistic, we’ll say so and design a clean transition instead.

• Do you move furniture and remove the old flooring?

  Yes — removal, disposal and furniture handling are part of the job, not your weekend. We protect walls and trim on the way through, and rooms go back together before we leave.

• What does new flooring cost?

  It depends on the material, the area, and what the subfloor needs — prep is the honest variable most quotes hide. After your free consultation you get a detailed, itemized proposal with material and installation separated, and per Virginia law just 30% down to start, price locked before work begins.

• Does new flooring really change how a home feels?

  More than almost anything per dollar. Floors are the largest surface in every room — replacing tired carpet or dated finishes changes the light, the sound and the sense of quality everywhere at once, which is why flooring is often step one of a whole-home refresh.
